WordPress Web Design for Depoy Studios in Phoenix

Custom Wordpress Web Design for Depoy Studios in Phoenix Arizona

WordPress Web Design for Depoy Studios in Phoenix

This photographer needed a website designed to match her brand. It needed a dark color, so as to emphasize the vivid color in the pictures. the website had to be built on a content management system that was both user friendly and easy to optimize for search engines. Having educated herself on the many CMS programs out there, Cristina Depoy and her business partner had come to the conclusion that WordPress was the platform she wanted to build on.

This was a wise choice, and we went in and set up features that were perfect for a photographer: we did custom galleries using nextgen gallery so that the photos displayed in very attractive, scrollable lightboxes. We made the blog functions integrate with the front page content, so new shoots would be front and center and ready for prospective clients to peruse. The website was using a lot of jquery, as well as html, CSS and PHP. It is a mobile responsive site, and adapts to the viewport in which it is being viewed. Being a arizona web designer and developer, I knew that we needed the site to load as quickly as possibly and have a UI that was clean and easy to use, so we created dropdown menus for the desktop site and a jquery menu for the mobile site.

SEO in AZ was also a big concern for this client. Being a local business, they needed to be found for their products and services, and they needed a strategy to grow their online presence. I assisted with basic search advice and coaching, setting up SEO plugins and instructing the team at Depoy Studios on their use, as well as working with the owners to come up with productive blog strategy focused on capturing long tail and high value search while still appearing natural and not spammy.

Website Designed For Sapphire Pools AZ

Sapphire Pools, Custom Mesa Wordpress Theme by My Favorite Web Designs

Designing and Crafting A Site For A Craftsman

Ted Miller is not your ordinary pool builder. He has been doing high end custom reflecting pools and negative edge pools for over a decade, and some of his work adorns the highest end home in Arizona. Likewise, he needed a website designer that could put together a site that he could:

  • Manage the images on the site
  • Manage the text on the website
  • Not have to worry about hacking
  • have automatic updates and backups

Anyone who knows my business can guess what I recommended for a website platform. You guessed it, WP to the rescue! As usual, I discussed the design before hand with Ted, he showed me some of what he liked graphically, I made a few recommendations, and I got to work on the graphics.

Ted’s site was unique in that he did not need SEO, his business is primarily word of mouth. Of course, we set all clients up with search engine friendly sites regardless of their requirements, it is simply built into the way in which I code things. This will be useful, as should this business later decide to move forward with Search Engine Optimization they will be prepared.

What is an example of a site that is not coded for SEO?

This would be themes or templates that do not allow plugins to function, or interfere with the function of the plugin. It would be any design or website layed out with tables instead of clean modern CSS. It would be any site that had been built so as to be very difficult to use on mobile devices. It could also include website coding that utilizes flash components, or has javascript integral to the navigation or usage of the website, as many computers may have javascript and jquery blocked, or plugin updates can interfere with jquery or javascripting functionalities.

In closing, sapphirepoolsaz.com is a great website, built on the WordPress system as a custom theme. Having a site built to spec is perfect for any company seeking strong brand identity, and for that reason we also did business cards for Mr. Miller.

The Bornmann Law Group Project

SEO & Wordpress Website Redesign for The Bornmann Law Group In Mesa

The Bornmann Law Group Web Design Project

The Bornmann Law Group WordPress website was designed by My Favorite Web Designs using HTML CSS and PHP to create a custom theme for this law group’s internet presence. Custom wordpress themes are terrific for developing small business web sites because they are easily managed by the employees of the business or by any web developer regardless of the language in which they specialize.

This business has several other web sites but needed a central web presence to tie together their search engine optimization efforts and their corporate branding. This was a terrific decision for their search engine optimization efforts by My Favorite Web Designs as it allowed us to reinforce their product offerings with dedicated niche websites.

Like many small business web sites there is a lot of focus on the business is services which are being offered. In addition we took time to concentrate on the staff pages and make them more social so as to make the business more relatable to their local customer base.

When designing a website for a lawyer we know that trust builders will be very important for their visitors. People hire lawyers because they have an important significant legal matter that they need resolved urgently and with a favorable outcome. They need to find people who they can trust enough to turn these affairs over to and be confident that they will be handled expeditiously and skillfully.

For this reason, it is important to prominently highlight the reviews of any business where trust is a dominant issue. While we can show off the reviews the client collects on their own website, there is large value in showcasing the reviews that appear on third-party websites, as these are often trusted more than the reviews that appear on one’s own website. It is also useful to show off trust building icons. A good example is the Better Business Bureau. Businesses which are accredited with the Better Business Bureau are allowed to use and display the BBB rating for their business on their website. While many newer consumers may not be as familiar with the BBB as the older generation, for many this is still to go to source for trusted reviews. Other examples for lawyers might be their AV rating from Martindale Hubbell or their AVVO rating.

We also know that professions which are licensed and regulated are often investigated through the agency that regulates them. For this reason in a website designed for contractor we always prominently display the contractor license number, and lawyers would do well to link to their lawyer profiles and State Bar license so people can easily research them and determine there are no skeletons hiding in closets.

The last component of the design for this client was the use of graphics. The client had read about HTML 5 and wanted the site to use cutting-edge technologies like that and CSS three. On the upside many of these elements were accessible and able to be used, but there were other components of these technologies that are not widely supported enough and would’ve caused cross browser compatibility issues. We ended up creating the design schematic in Photoshop and then re-creating it using a blend of traditional CSS and HTML combined with those elements of HTML 5 and 3 which were widely supported.

When choosing your design for your website be sure to consider what information about your company your clientele will be looking for or as this is the info that needs to be above the fold in the website you are building. Do not get overly impressed with displays of animated graphics or complicated designs, as these things do not necessarily lead to your client coming away with a favorable impression of you and your company.

Hess Flying School

Hess Flying School Tempe Web Design and SEO Project

Hess Flying School Website Project

This website was done for Mark Hess, a flight instructor in Mesa Arizona. Mark opened a business focused on teaching aspiring pilots, due to his own successes with flying and his love of the topic. He knew he would need a website to help promote his business, so Mark turned to My Favorite Web Designs to aid him in the creation of a beautiful E-commerce enabled website.

Our design requirements were fun – we wanted it to be clean, and easy to navigate, with a clean call to action. The website layout, done using wordpress, was to utilize a layout similar to a newspaper or magazine, and to have a consistent branding.

The WordPress Theme was also built for search optimization performed by My Favorite Web Designs. Our search engine marketing background makes Joshua Jacoby and My Favorite Web Designs the ideal candidate for websites that rank well on Google, Bing and Yahoo.

In closing, I really enjoyed building out such a clean look, and Mark is an absolute pleasure to work with. I did the site with a custom WP template, using PHP, HTML, Javascript and CSS, all done right here in our office in Mesa, Arizona.

Cadiente Plumbing

Mesa Wordpress Website Design and SEO for Cadiente Plumbing AZ

Cadiente Plumbing Website Project

Service industry professionals need websites that are able to accommodate their new projects and showcase their new offerings. WordPress is an ideal medium to design such a site, as it has terrific SEO properties and lends itself extremely well to a search optimization program designed by My Favorite Web Designs.

The cost of development on WordPress sites is also much easier to bear than the overwhelming cost associated with some of the less friendly technologies, such as ASP and PHP.

This site also uses a lot of custom graphics, and the logo design was also done by My Favorite Web Design’s owner Joshua Jacoby. It also has videos produced for the site and discussing some of the key services, another boost for search engines.

Lastly, we use WP Super Cache and Better WP Security on all our sites, which I would highly recommend to anyone running a VPS or concerned with consistent site speed. The security plugin actually is 100% as useful as Super Cache, since it blocks attackers from using your site’s resources during probing attacks, which actually accounts for a lot of the site slowdown on the internet.

Great site, great working with Brett Cadiente, looking forward to plenty more collaboration and internet marketing work in the future.

Adrianna’s Cleaning Service

Adrianas Cleaning Service Mesa Wordpress Web Design

Adrianna’s Cleaning Service

This Mesa cleaning business needed a website that showcased their commitment to their service and inspired confidence in their customers. It needed to have a feminine design, and be well suited for galleries, so that it could be configured to display pictures from the many AZ clients they service.

Internet marketing was also a concern. The website had to be search friendly and able to be easily expanded when needed. This means a content management system is needed, and there is no finer CMS on all the web than WordPress.

The site design created by My Favorite Web Designs uses elements of pink and blue, and has prominent contact forms and easy to read navigation, broken into two level. Many web designs use different types of navigation, including vertical, horizontal, two level, visual, etc… This website uses a split level nav, which is increasingly popular. this places all the about links smaller on the top right, and the service links large and right in the middle.

Anyway, The client was thrilled with her site, and it looks great, a terrific project to have been involved!

Elite Builders

Elite Builders Custom Wordpress Web Design

Elite Builders

Elite Builders is a custom home building company in Colorado that needed a website. The owner, Joshua Hector, is a friend of mine from my days as the marketing director of Capuzzo Construction, and he turned to me for a web design for his business by MFWD.

I designed the site in HTML & CSS, on a wordpress base of course. I used Jquery for the slideshows, and I employed javascript in elements from form verification to analytics tracking.

This wordpress theme is perfect for displaying nextgen gallery photo galleries, as you will see on almost every page.

I also was happy with how the logo turned out. The graphic design is such a big part of a really successful website, and I was very pleased with how it all came together. We are currently working on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for that project, stay tuned!

Malibu Pool Service and Repair

Malibu Pool Service Chandler Wordpress Webdesign

WordPress Website Design For Malibu Pool Service And Supply Company

Malibu Pool Service AZ WordPress Webdesign

This website was built in the same manner as many of my sites, with a few unique design tweaks. As My Favorite Web Designs was also hired to do search engine optimization for this site, I was able to incorporate my keyword choices into my CSS selectors and make sure we had no overlap in the site structure, set up analytics and webmaster tools, 404 monitoring and some other nifty WordPress capabilities we have used to great effect for our customers. I also did an almost pure CSS design, with the exception of the background.

The site is cross browser compatible and tested in IE, FF and Chrome. (did you know Chrome is the #1 browser now? Check it out at http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp)

It is also hosted on our servers, which are optimized for WordPress websites. We run a secure, PCI compliant virtual private server, hardware admin by hostgator.

Malibu now has a professional website which can be easily expanded and is in the process of being optimized for search. It is blog ready, and can be customized any number of ways. It integrates picture gallery management and many types of search engine optimization provided by My Favorite Web Designs, all in all a pretty terrific start to a small business website design by My Favorite Web Designs.

Malibu Pool Service

Malibu Pool Service Chandler Arizona

Web Design And SEO For A Queen Creek Business

Malibu pool service is the local East Valley Arizona full service company. They do service and repair and they needed a website to tell the public about it.

to give a little back story on the company, I first started working with the owner, Kevin, about a year and a half ago while he was an employee with another company. We started out making a website for an entirely other company. During this time, Kevin became a free agent and decided to open up shop for himself. We offered to set him up during this initial phase while he was not cash flow rich, and very inexpensively set up Craigslist campaigns, graphics for flyers and a 1 page web presence, all of which contributed to the thriving company that they are today.

Malibu pools has also recently opened up a supply store in Queen Creek Arizona to compliment their service business. My favorite web designs was on hand to take pictures and video for their website and create a landing page for the store.

We are currently managing and SEO campaign for this company, and we are having enormous success in making their web presence a true force in Arizona pool service and repair.

Doing website design and search engine optimization for local businesses is a very rewarding task. You get to see how your professionalism in executing an Seo program for designing a terrific looking marketing piece can result in sales and an improved quality of life for your client. Our clients rely on their businesses for their livelihood, and to feed their families. When we do our job well, it means a lot to our clients, and that is very gratifying.

Infiniti Custom Homes

Infiniti Custom Homes Gilbert Arizona

This is 1 of the first web sites that I ever did. It was made using HTML CSS JavaScript and PHP.

This was a cool project, it really was fun. We used pics from the houses he had built and used custom photo filters to make it look like a three dimensional sketch. We used that pic for the front page banner, and it made a great personalized banner for their Chandler AZ Website Design.

This was a local Arizona builder, so it was particularly important to convey an intimate feel and local flavor to the clients and visitors to the site. It was designed to be a personal website without the corporate feel.

This client was a chandler resident, but I was happy to travel out to his house to meet him for collaboration and brainstorming sessions along the way.

Mr Mcpeters is a terrific guy, and a cost conscious builder, terrific to have on your side. I appreciated his design input all along the way, and together we made a basic but beautiful site, an experience from which I grew my business and matured into a real Deal professional design studio.

If you need a website design company near Chandler Arizona, then My Favorite Web Designs is a terrific option for getting your website built and your Chandler AZ search optimization started.

Elettromedia USA

Elettromedia USA Website

This high end audio company needed a wordpress website in order that their dealers would have the ability to login to a dealer Administration area. This was particularly challenging as the company was managing 100 of dealers in almost every state.

originally, the company had built their website on the Joomla platform. Unfortunately as has been the case for many Joomla users, the interface proved too daunting and usability have been reduced to nothing.
and so, my favorite web designs was ultimately retained to convert the website from Joomla to WordPress.

Along the way, we ended up adding almost 40 new pages, an interactive map, the login area, and many interactive and media rich features, such as gallery and event pages. I stayed in touch with the company as they have been growing, and so far they are still using all the original programming that I did for them.

One of the biggest challenges was a custom dealer locator feature that was on their previous website and required specialized server configuration in order to operate on the new website, integrating it into the word press content management system. this was achieved by using an I-frame to bring the functionality into the wordPress container without disrupting any of the existing code. Im very proud of the work , design and development that has gone into this website , it was done earlier in my career and yet remains a great example of my early work.

when looking at this website you may notice minor inconsistencies from page to page. This was due to the website owner editing his website using the administration interface. The ambitious website owner strived to achieve custom layouts that typically require many years of experience in web design. he did achieve that goal using tables which resulted in slightly different formatting in the many browsers. However, it still came out great, and he was able to achieve his attention and continue producing pages for new products add new dealers years after we had launched his site.

Remembering Angels

Remembering Angels AZ Webdesign

This website was designed for a small business in Mesa Arizona that specializes in taking care of a loved ones final resting place. The business was just launching and needed a brand and an internet presence.

We designed the website in WordPress so that it would be scaleable for expansion later on. It also allowed us to install tools on his website for advertising his specials, such as an RSS feed and a sitemap that updates itself regularly.

The customer requested that the design resemble a heavenly appearance, so as to import to the viewer a sense of calm and to remind the user of the passing onto a better place. We created the clouds in the background using photoshop cs5, then simply adding the framework on top of that.

We design in plain HTML, then convert to wordpress for use as a template. This has the benefit of being portable. Should the client need to change servers or setup his same look on another domain, all he needs to do is upload the file for the theme. WordPress even has the amazing ability to allow you to upload your theme as a zip file.

ClinicaReal in Arizona

ClinicaReal is a local Arizona chiropractic office run by doctor Keith stone. Doctor Stone has been a chiropractor in Arizona for over 20 years. Their business had an outdated website that needed to be revamped for search friendliness and easy transition between the Spanish and English versions of the website.

Creating a bilingual website in WordPress poses several unique challenges. You need to do a separate WordPress installation. This is important for separating your site maps, creating unique SEO characteristics, and directing users to interfaces entirely in their own language.

It is also important to include their YouTube videos and other existing promotional materials, as well as doing redirects for all their old website pages when creating the new website and replacing the old website.

We are now working with ClinicaReal to establish their social media profiles and build a SEO marketing strategy. We take great pride in maintaining strong relationships with all of our local Arizona clients and particularly love our neighbors here in Mesa AZ.

Thin Blue Line Arizona Car Service

TBL Car Service Scottsdale Web Designer And SEO

This website was built for thin blue line car service, an Arizona car service. This company started from scratch with a brand new domain we advised them purchase, and brand new social media accounts including a brand new Facebook.

this is 1 of the sites that I did a custom photo shoot for in order to enhance the attractiveness of his website. The photoshoot was very successful and yielded some fantastic photographs. There is nothing that helps a local business get new clients like pictures of their premises to help a client feel a connection to the company.

Google also seems to like high quality in high definition photographs and graphics on web sites. This is evidenced by the fact that this website, with the help of our SEO program has shot to the top of the search engine rankings in a very short span of time. These pictures are useful not just in creating the site itself but also in promoting the business on social media. On social media every article need the picture as a preview of the Articles content. In fact , A bad article with a good picture may get more coverage then a great article with no visual appeal.

Amack Law

Amack Law Wordpress Webdesign Chandler Arizona

This website was actually one of my favorite web sites to design and build as we were able to use my photography and a beautiful color scheme with grunge touches. I was also able to integrate the contact form into the header. The layout is clean and crisp, drawing attention just where the attention should be.

We did a photoshoot for the lawyer at his office in Chandler Arizona. The office space was perfect for getting shots of the attorney in his working environment. Using these photos in the design can really make a difference between a cold indifferent template website and a warm friendly personalized local business website.

The website uses CSS 3, HTML, PHP, the wordpress platform, and a little bit of JavaScript. It is currently only styled for desktop computers, but displays well on tablets and mobile devices. It is also coded using modern conventions so that it can be set for specific styles on separate style sheets for separate devices, which makes it a great property to have for all of today’s devices and for all of the devices of tomorrow.

Budget My Build

Budget My Build Web Design Scottsdale

Budget My Build

Budget my build is a website 4 people looking to get cost on their upcoming construction projects. It gives users the ability to login and to register for the site. This is a tremendous way to build a community of users

The site integrates social media very heavily as it does the aim to be community based. The very essence of web 2.0 is interaction. This website promotes interaction between builders and homeowners or potential homeowners who need their services.

the value of such a site could be tremendous. It has the potential to become a major social force that could scale from a few users to several 1000 within a short space of time. Fortunately, WordPress can be deployed for vast and often unpredictable traffic loads and potential needs both on the application integration side of development, and for the many search engine optimization needs a company may develop as it grows.

Today Americare Hospice takes full advantage of their content management system to expand their content their reach and their search engine presence.

I know I can’t say enough about wordpress, but it truly is named very well since I believe that it is to the Internet what the printing press was to the publishing industry. It really empowers site owners to take charge of their internet presence.

The Bridge Church

Bridge Church Web Design Gilbert Arizona

The Bridge Church in Gilbert Arizona

This was the Chandler Arizona Baptist Church that needed a website designed to showcase their church and the work that they do in the community. It was a simple WordPress site, with a few special grouches.

It used a query slideshow across the main banner as well as a page dedicated to their podcasts. The site used color that were requested during a one on one sit down design meet with the church. It Ellis the wordless nay stem as do many of my sites, and it was turned over to the church to content manage upon the completion of the website.

One great advantage of working with my favorite web designs is that we help you to learn and and manage the wordpress system we set up for you. I personally spend time with clients at every meet going over how to use the controls on the back end of the site.

That is, after all, one of the greatest things about the wordpress content management system. There is universally available support for learning any aspect of the wordpress system. You can find videos on how to do everything from the basics to the most advanced tasks. There are hundreds of forums, thousands of tutorials and a vibrant driving community of WordPress lovers running their web sites exclusively on that platform.

If you need a website designed for your Chandler Arizona business, My Favorite Web Designs is an excellent option for site optimized for search, created with mobile in mind and perfect for conveying your brands message in the way that you want your brand represented.

Woodland Custom Beam Company

Arizona Ecommerce Website Woodland Beam Company

Woodland Custom Beam Company

Woodland custom beam company required an AZ website design that allowed them to prominently showcase their product, educate the consumer on what the product was and how it was made, and allow the consumer to purchase a sample of the product at the end. Because it required a purchase of the website visitors, the nature of this website is essentially an e-commerce website. It is not exactly like all other e-commerce websites because all that is ordered online is the sample. If the client likes the sample the order for the job is submitted through contact with the owner of the business and not through the online store.

The store needed to be able to show the many different products, explain the details of those products and allow visitors to easily purchase their samples of those products, while understanding that they were purchasing samples and not in fact purchasing entire beams for their home.

This is often the job of the site designer, to analyze the purpose of the site and recommend a user interface that leads to the person performing some action were purchasing some product. If we get lost in that purpose we can often find ourselves with designs that incorporate far more information than your visitor wants, resulting in a cluttered user interface that is difficult to navigate and repulsive to clients who are looking to quickly move towards conversion.

Search engine optimization was also a huge consideration for this website. Their product was very squarely in a specialized niche, and the potential for sales online was pretty significant. Because their product was hard to find and specialized, the bulk of that type of home decor was searched for and purchased online.

We created a search engine friendly e-commerce store that very successfully accomplished the objectives of the website and has been supplying the owners of the Woodland custom beam company with a stream of new customers for many years.

Paramount Roofing

Paramount Roofing Mesa AZ Roofing Company

This website design was done for a Mesa, Arizona roofing contractor by My Favorite Web Designs. Unfortunately, the contractor ended up going with a different site, but I think this was clearly a superior design. check it out and decide for yourself!

The original was done in wordpress, and had account logins and a content management system for customer facing account pages, as well as a login system that redirected the customer directly to the page they needed to go to. The estimate form was even put online, which was a good idea, but I think may have been more data than an online form could make easy, it required almost 150 fields per 4 seperate estimates!

Gunderson, Denton & Peterson, P.C.

Mesa business lawyers web design and seo

Website Designed For Gunderson, Denton & Peterson of Mesa, Arizona

Gunderson, Denton & Peterson is a law firm in Mesa, Arizona handling legal issues such as immigration, business, litigation, franchise, estate and many other areas of law. The Firm has 6 lawyers, whom are all featured with bio pages on the website.

In addition to the website design by My Favorite Web Designs, we also provide the internet marketing for GDP. We built their site on a WordPress platform, and have used this to their advantage, helping build them as a dominant website in the legal arena. My Favorite Web Designs employ many different WordPress search engine optimization technologies, here are just a few interesting ones:

  • Yet Another Related Posts Plugin(YARRP)
  • SEO Ultimate
  • Breadcrumbs By Yoast
  • XML Sitemaps
  • Better XML Sitemaps
  • XML Video Sitemaps
  • Google Analytics For WordPress
  • Broken Link Checker

As with all awesome technology, finding out it exists is the first step, becoming intimate with its use and deployment is the next. These and all plugins are only as useful as the developer working with them. A good developer and search engine optimization professional from My Favorite Web Designs should view the plugins only as automating things he could do himself, their should be very little mystery.

A great example was a site I did a few years back using the magic fields plugin. Great plugin. but I did not pay attention to the fact that it was storing data in a different database table, which made calling the info more complex and slower. I was newer going in, but by understanding the mechanism at work I could have saved myself a lot of grief.

Temperature Masters WordPress Website Design

Phoenix air conditioner contractor wordpress web design

This web design and seo project was performed for a Glendale, Arizona AC contractor by My Favorite Web designs. I designed everything personally including the logo and the slideshow, and built out the website in wordpress.

For anyone with any lingering doubts about the effectiveness of the wordpress as an SEO platform, I submit for you that after 6 short months of SEO we have temperature masters top 3 for a variety of keywords, from Glendale AC contractors to Phoenix heat pumps, resulting in very nice traffic for our client.

To estimate the value of your My Favorite Web Designs SEO program, look at PPC. We helped this company with PPC, and they got up close to $12 a click in the middle of the summer. We now average 30 unique visitors to this lovely wordpress website, each and every week. If we went super conservative and estimated each click at $7, we still end up providing over $800 worth of value, and that number increases each and every month.

Our company does not do a lot of advertising – we prefer to put extra time into our SEO customers, and let their business results and products speak for themselves.

LIFT AND STOR

Wordpress E-commerce Web Design Done For A Customer In Apache Junction, AZ

WordPress E-commerce Website Design

Designing Websites For Selling Online With WordPress

The WordPress E-commerce Client

This website design and development was done for a customer in Apache Junction, who also has a location in Seattle, Washington. The customer makes storage beds, hidden beds, wall beds and DIY kits for beds. He previously had an online store, but it was designed in Joomla, not user friendly, and riddled with bugs. The Shipping did not work, it crashed on customers regularly, it was a mess, an expensive mess.

Redesigning And New Programming In WP

When Lift and Stor hired me to revamp their web store, I knew we needed to really make a change. I migrated the site to WordPress, rebuilt the shopping cart, set up shipping correctly using 2 different dynamic shipping calculators utilizing the Fedex API and the UPS API. I did the commerce with WP e-commerce. WP E-commerce used to completely suck in 2010, but now I love it.

Why WP E-commerce Is Better Than ZenCart, Magento or VirtueMart For Joomla

WPEC (WordPress E-commerce) VS Zen Cart

I Learned E-commerce on the zen cart, and so I was always loathe to move to a new technology. Unfortunately, time goes on, and we need to avail ourselves of new technology. The Zen cart back end is made up of dozens of items dropping down to 100’s of options. The products database, while sortable by category, uses an insane icon system, where you need to refer to a legend to figure what each icon does, or hover over the icons. WPEC, by contrast, uses a dropdown menu for the available options, very neat. On the front end, WPEC is far more easier to style, and its integration with the wordpress website design innovation of custom posts makes it a hands down winner.

WP E-commerce VS Magento

I know you have been hearing the same buzzwords I have. “Magento Is More Extensible” and “Magento is more robust”. I am here to let you in on a secret in the web design and development community. While extensible and robust are nice words, they are also double speak for complicated. While there are many situations where I am sure that Magento can outshine WordPress, the problem lies with needing a full time web designer to make your changes. It is far too complex to easily train staff on, and the extra functionalities that the word “robust” implies do not usually exist yet, so it is extensible in so far as you can custom program modules for it. This makes it good as a starting platform for gigantic online retailers, but far too cost prohibitive and a little too “robust” for even the most skilled clients I have worked with. As a Mesa Web Designer, I cannot in good conscience recommend a cart with such an overly complex design.

WordPress Online Store VS Joomla online store (VirtueMart or others)

When I was looking for a CMS to specialize in, I tried Joomla before WP. I found it clunky, slow, buggy, etc… I worked with three clients, all of whom were mystified and baffled by the backend. In the time I have spent becoming an Arizona WordPress Expert, I have certainly found that client after client prefers the WP interface, and loves the ease of their content management system. I am not saying that Joomla could not one day be better than WordPress, anything is possible, but right not WordPress is used almost 9X Joomla, and as a result is much more widely supported and extended. Anything that Joomla may currently do better, and there is not much, I guarantee WordPress will be doing it even better within the year, they are developing so quickly, so intelligently. It is rare to see software reach such a mature stage in its life cycle and still make solid improvements on a monthly basis, but they do it!!

Number One On The List

Number One On The List New York

Another WordPress website by Joshua Jacoby, owner of My Favorite Web Designs. A professional wordpress designer knows the value of an easy content management system, and this Arizona web designer is no exception.

Featuring dynamic updating testimonials, smooth slider for the front page, it has elements of Jquery, HTML, PHP and more. If anyone needs a good Arizona WordPress Website Design And Development professional, please contact me for a free quote.

Website design for this client was a slam dunk – they used easy color, black and blue. In addition, the company had a very clear content plan. Many times, web design best practices tells us to wireframe, or represent what content goes on what URLs, and where these things would link – the wireframe maps out the flow. This client did not need a wireframe, they had their content mapped out into a good user interface.

I did discuss with this client the naming of the links on their site. Some of the links were named with words that did not mean anything, which is defined as mystery meat navigation, because the client has no way of knowing what the link they are clicking is about. This is in violation of web design best practices, but in my experience you can educate clients on what best practice is, but it is not OK for me to browbeat them into accepting those recommendations. On the flipside, some design or SEO issues can cause penalties, and I am much more aggressive in educating clients on any activities that might end up getting their site a penalty and downgrade in search engine rankings.

ART ADDICTION COMPANY

This website started as a fully functioning volusion shopping cart template. My changes were not gigantic, but then again, they were. First, I needed to add Jquery support to the Volusion template, without violating HTTPS. I also needed to bring all my images onto their server, for security. I designed the slide images and the menus, etc…, uploaded, and coded them into the template. Then, using the inline editor for the front page, I added in the CSS selectors corresponding to the Jquery code and I was in business.

The rest of the website design was pretty easy, just swapping out images. We also did SEO for this customer, which meant building custom landing pages for volusion shopping carts, which can be done pretty handily in the categories menu, under the inventory section, its kind of a weird system, but its easy enough and it works.

I will also give a shout out to the boys at Volusion, good support, great server resources/speed, secure, easy template. It will never be a custom built $12,000 Magento shopping cart, but it is pretty damn good for the price and convenience, better than some of the other I have seen.

VERITAS ASSOCIATES, LLC

Arizona WordPress Designer

Custom WordPress Sites Provide SEO Advantages

Converting A Website To WordPress For SEO Benefit

As an Arizona WordPress Designer, I often run into situations where a site can be optimized in HTML, but if we are doing an ongoing SEO campaign, the cost benefit of running on a WordPress core increases dramatically. WordPressing a site is not hard, and can often be done as part of a website redesign.

The original design elements were left over from another website designer. I simply cleaned it up, big time. I replaced the bulky javascript that was running the slider menu with nice clean Jquery, I redid the table layout as clean CSS, I proportioned everything. I also put the site onto a WordPress platform, which was a great move. Since we also do the SEO for Veritas Associates LLC, creating a super SEO friendly web design like this was a good move. It paid off well, just search Google for an Arizona Private Investigator, he has been top 5 for a year, #3 right now and closing in on that #1 spot. He is also one of many that I have done and promoted with top AZ spots as an Arizona WordPress Design pro.

When designing a WordPress website, there are many tools to use for different elements. Sidebars can be hard coded, widgetized, dynamic, static, use default template commands, whatever. A really good template blends these elements together seamlessly, and provides for good SEO, which this WordPress Web Design does.

Advantages Of WordPress Content Management Systems

Conquering SEO With Intelligent, Custom CMS

Many people do not understand the need for a good content managed website. You may think, as I once did, I can simply manage my content with dreamweaver, or even notepad if you like to hand code your websites soup to nuts (I Do). Well, this is true. So why does WordPress provide an advantage?

Why Does A WordPress Site Really Make Matter?

Advantages Of WordPress

Every Arizona business could benefit from a WordPress website design. The benefits are many:

  • Manage all pages of the site in a super easy tree like structure
  • Manage all URLS for all pages in one place, with easy redirecting for changes
  • Add capabilities such as live chat, forums, analytics and more with an easy plugin system that anyone can learn in under 5 minutes
  • Manage all titles, meta tags, and other SEO characteristics from a master list inside the WordPress administration panel.
  • Fantastic Gallery for managing your website’s images

INTEGRATED SPIRITUAL HEALING

This website had an interesting need that required thinking outside the box in order to solve. The website was a standard wordpress build but the client had a very unique request. They had a movie they wanted to play on a loop, but they wanted the first part to play the first time and not the subsequent times. Now, it is easy enough to start a video part of the way in and have it loop from there but having a video play in this fashion is not a traditional request.

I searched high and low for a way to do it using existing video embed technology but it was to no avail. The solution lay in a hybridization of technologies, a unique mix of animated gifs, jquery, and you tube embed customization. This ended up taking me way outside the realm of wordpress design but it is a great example of the way in which web designers must also be problem solvers for a variety of technical issues.

The specific solution was to overlay the video with the animated gif. Then I used jquery to fade in the gif, so that the full video actually played and yet the gif obscured it as it faded in and appeared to loop the video, an illusion.

Of course, it is wise to use jquery sparingly since it can conflict across certain libraries in wordpress. You should get in the habit of running your jquery in no conflict mode, it is just good practice.

S.K. FRAMES

This website started as a WordPress site design, a free download. The customer had a few needs for modifying and setting up the template, which was no problem for My Favorite Web Designs chief designer and developer, Joshua Jacoby. Josh has modified countless templates, and understands creating a web template that works for CMS.

The first order of business was the sliding navigation pane on the front page. this uses simple jquery to show the images from the most recent posts, and use them as the pictures on the navigation. This all falls down when the post does not have an awesome image, and it is disappointing that the most prominent navigation in the site design structure is tied to posts – it should lead to prime real estate pages of the site, such as the services and contact. To rectify this, I modified the slider loop that tied into script to show the pages on the site, then locked it for the pages we want, reducing the overall query load on the WordPress server.

Next up some logo and footer action, then Nextgen gallery took care of the sidebar images, I widgetized the sidebar, a huge wordpress CMS advantage. The only annoying thing I will throw out there, for folks who have not done a ton of design, is that widgets do not transfer domains easily. they can transfer servers no problems, but the domain is hard coded into serialized data, which cannot be edited manually. The scripts for doing find and replace on serialized widget data also suck, resulting in having to basically rebuild widgets, so be wary of overusing them, they can really slow down your WordPress design.

ABIGAIL FIGHTS CANCER

I recently designed and donated a website for a two year old girl who is battling cancer. If you would like to donate towards her medical fund, you can do so through the website or her parents have set up a trust fund at Wells Fargo bank called the “Abigail Goss Medical Trust”. All of the donations made are used to help Abigail fight cancer.

Update

Sadly, Abigail passed away, it is truly heartbreaking. Her family is so strong, they make the world move forward for Abigail’s siblings, but the pain of losing a child is more than any of us could imagine…

MACMILLAN INVESTIGATIONS

A cool website design, done for a private detective in Scottsdale, Arizona who does surveillance and other investigation activities. Uses pretty standard features, including the cool custom background, a widgetized sidebar, social media links, and the content boxes are made using CSS3, which just started becoming OK to do, now that over 96% of regular internet users use a browser that support this.

When implementing CSS3 features such as this, we need to use a concept called “Graceful Degradation”. This typically means that as tags are no longer supported by browsers, other fail safes kick in to maintain the integrity of the design. This is true here as well, it is designed so that if those 4% of older browsers whom do not support CSS3 arrive at your site, it will still displays well.

The Law Offices of Fife & Cesta

Fife Cesta Bankruptcy Attorneys Website Mesa Arizona

The Law Offices of Fife & Cesta

This Mesa Arizona Bankruptcy Attorney contacted My Favorite Web Designs for help with their SEO. One thing I noticed when working with their site was that the WordPress theme was circa 2006, and not compatible with most of today’s awesome WordPress plugins. We built a brand new design, from scratch. The lawyers and I went back and forth until we had the design perfect, at which point I built it out into a working Custom WordPress theme, replete with standards compliant CSS, HTML, Jquery slideshow and a smooth CMS for all of it.

When building the skin, I use the minimal amount of code, and keep 95% of my code as external CSS, which makes the design easier for search engines to read. I use Jquery animations instead of Flash for tons of stuff as well, such as the slideshow on this website, which makes for better SEO and better performance. I also design the content sections into hierarchy for search performance, which I do naturally. For instance, My Favorite Web Designs website is split into services and portfolio, both of which have separate Web Design and SEO sections. The Portfolio section will ultimately flow to the appropriate landing pages within the services categories, achieving my desired flow. Along the same lines, this website is arranged hierarchically, as you can see.

ASPERGER PARENT NETWORK

I did this website for the Founder of the Asperger Parent Network, who is just a lovely person and really a force for good in the community. We needed a platform that was content managed, a website that we could add events to without the help of a web designer, A really solid basis to grow a community. We wanted a blog, and the ability to add videos or any other type of media. Of course, a custom WordPress theme was able to accomplish all those needs, look great and has the potential to be built on as much as needed.

Our design used a lot of the elements left over from the original web designer, Linda Lewis. Linda was the designer for APN for many years, until she passed away last year. Everyone had really great things to say about here, and I was thrilled to be able to create a website design that really built on her original creative work, it seemed fitting.

PJO Insurance Brokerage

PJO Insurance Brokerage Phoenix Web Design

Website Designed For Insurance Broker In Scottsdale / Phoenix

Designing a website for an insurance agent has many of the same requirements as creating a web presence for any other type of company. Insurance agents to educate their clientele about their products, much the same as a car mechanic might educate a client about their repair. For this reason, it is useful for websites to have a blog where the owners of the business can place valuable information about their subject. In this instance the insurance broker elected to blog heavily, and we arranged his website so that his blogs would play a prominent role in the marketing.

Even though the Scottsdale insurance company is a small business with one agent, they needed a web presence that was professional and often well-designed enough that they would be able to convert customers who had high and/or large-volume business which they needed insured. The design components are critical when trying to create an ambience for a company. Cheap or flashy design and send a very negative signal potential buyers about the quality of your product or service, and can often come across pushy or cheap. A clean AZ web design was needed, but with enough flair to match the logo and create a branded presence.

We went with the green and black as the colors, partly because the client was Irish and the green suited his design taste. We design the website using HTML, CSS, PHP and other web programming languages. Even though the design was highly customized we still managed to create a WordPress theme that was very lightweight and easy for search engines to crawl. Part of the key to designing a website that meets these criteria is considering the amount of JavaScript or custom PHP code that you use in building your website. While there are many cool things you can do with JavaScript if you are able to accomplish a similar feet using CSS you will end up creating a website that is lighter weight and more cross device compatible. It is also wise to avoid too much custom code as JavaScript is a common culprit when conflicts arise between themes and plug-ins.

The design was a huge success and achieved its objective of attracting high-end clientele. Search engine optimization campaign that was conducted was also highly successful and resulted in multiple first page and first position rankings for this website that in turn resulted in sales and conversions for our client, a success for any SEO company in Mesa Arizona.

The cost of creating a website like this was not as dramatic as you may think. In this instance owner of the business was very involved in creating the content for his website, and this meant that we were able to cost-effectively create blog posts and landing pages for the search engine optimization program, a huge advantage. Even though the cost was not huge by working collaboratively in the design and content creation process with our client we were able to come up with a web presence for his business that is truly able to convert the target demographic.

ARIZONA ROOF RESCUE

A Wordpress Website designed and developed by Arizona Wordpress Expert Joshua Jacoby

Custom Website Designed And Developed On The WordPress Plaftom For Arizona Roof Rescue

This website was designed and developed for Arizona Roof Rescue by My Favorite Web Designs of Mesa, AZ. We created the graphics from scratch in Adobe Photoshop, and then sent the customer the proof for approval, at which point we built it out on the WordPress platform, using CSS, HTML, PHP and a little bit of Javascript.

Advantages Of The WordPress Website Platform

Easy Upgrades

The WordPress plugin system is a sweet time saver. Programs which normally would take many hours to install can be set up in just a few minutes. Applications like SEO tools, E-commerce and even complex systems, such as ticket management or events booking apps are easily installed and uninstalled by webmasters or even end users.

Awesome Search Advantages

The search advantages of a WordPress system designed by My Favorite Web Designs is huge. We consider SEO in everything, and use only the most sensible design elements. For instance, there are hundreds of slideshows on the market, but only a handful that meet the optimization criteria adequately.

Content Management

The editing system of a WordPress website means contents of the website can be altered by anybody with the correct login. In fact, there are many levels of users, so you can have people who simply contribute, or people who simply comment, whatever you wish. This means you can have employees make updates right away, it empowers the user.

Of course, even with a good website design and a solid CMS, there are plenty of times when you may want to have a web designer professionally design a page. Now you can grant limited access to contractors, so they cannot do damage by accident, to other parts of you site. There is even a database feature that saves the previous versions of any page, so every copy ever published is available to be restored, in the event of accidental deletion or overwriting.

Arizona Roof Rescue Website Design Features

This WordPress Design features components such as a customized contact form 7 sidebar quick quote form, Nextgen gallery pictures for the gallery page, set up for perfect optimization. It also has a front page slider which is content managed by the Gallery plugin, and custom artwork for the slides which are in the slider. Lastly, I am formatting his business info with microdata, and we will add an Hcard for the final My Favorite Web Designs search engine optimization boost.

THE SAMPAIR GROUP

Designed using wordpress, this website was a rush design for Sampair bankruptcy law, an Arizona company

A law firm headquartered out of Peoria Arizona, the bankruptcy office also has a location in Mesa. They needed a rush wordpress website design in Arizona, and located My Favorite Web Designs to help. I personally set the site up on a WordPress theme, since they needed a site that would also be SEO friendly.

A basic design, this web site has many defining characteristics, such as front page contact form so your online traffic can go right to conversion. It also features three column layout, which was embedded into the CMS, so all three columns could be edited without utilizing widget areas or custom post queries. Both of these common WordPress CMS techniques have drawbacks.

WordPress Websites have Widgets that often serialize the data that is stored in them, which means that it is stored in a coded shorthand. The reason this sucks is database transfer. Lets say Sampair wants to change their URL. The website can be easily transferred over to another server or another hosting account, except for the widget data, which cannot be changed easily Via PHPmyAdmin. Normally, if we changed from one URL to another or one IP to another, I can simply do a find and replace on the database. With serialized data, this does not work. The scripts that exist to circumvent this common and frustrating database storage technique frankly suck, and often break databases or do not work at all. All this in addition to complicating the websites CMS for users, which of course is a bad idea.

We could also do Custom Post queries in WordPress. We could have a post, give it a category, and call it from the template file. the problem with this technique is added load time, as a second set of database queries is executed, but it cannot be called until the first set of code gets called, so it results in more http requests. I could swing this on my private server, which is dedicated and the hardware and VM is managed by my boys at hostgator, but it is a mistake to assume all users will have this, and it is a mistake to not design with resource limitations in mind. It may have worked in this smaller, simpler website, but it is a dirty habit to start thinking of solutions that are resource heavy.

The best resource, for users who can handle a little HTML in their website content management system, is to create the additional data inside the primary data call – so all data is coming from one database table, one row. This would be problematic for more inexperienced users, since they would break the layout and not use HTML mode to edit their WordPress web design. For those, I recommend the other two methods. For myself, I train my employees to use the wordpress CMS, so i am able to have multiple SEO and content crews working on websites without being technical masters, which would drive my costs too far up.

Many thanks to Patrick Sampair and his right hand man, Rick Gordon for the opportunity, I look forward to working with you guys on optimizing and expanding your web presence in the near future!

ENGINEER DESIGNER

Website Design by Mesa Arizona Web Designer Joshua Jacoby - Engineer Designer Wordpress Website, Thesis theme

This custom WordPress website was built for Ken Risley, owner of the Engineer Designer. Ken uses the very popular Thesis theme for his content management, which is really a nice CMS system. I personally prefer to design and code my own CMS features, but if you are OK with something a little more out of the box, it is a good starting point.

The fun thing about creating and designing a thesis theme is the restrictions. Anyone familiar with designing wordpress websites knows that when you upgrade, core files are overridden. Due to this, you have several different ways to design a WordPress website theme.

Most themes would be static, meaning they are coded once, and then the content is controlled through the database and widgets. This regular type of setup is a standard WordPress theme. When you upgrade the WordPress installation, the theme files displaying the data remain the same. the advantage is that you can upgrade to your hearts content. The downside is that the code will eventually degrade, and the people using your theme will need to switch. You won’t be able to upgrade your theme without overwriting the individuals changes.

So how do you code a theme that can be upgraded? The answer is to use overrides. Thesis very intelligently provided a section that does not get overwritten during upgrades, where we can place custom functions and CSS. Since they override existing CSS or hook to current functions, all the Thesis authors need to do is stick to their current naming conventions when designing and coding the upgrades, and they will install seamlessly.

This becomes fun for me as the Website Designer, since I am achieving things I do everyday anyway, but in a different way than I would normally do them. As a CSS purist and fanatic, I prefer to use CSS over Javascript or PHP when possible, it is a cleaner, lighter weight language and can often accomplish the same objective with less load on the server.

Anyway, the new site looks great, I hope you guys take the time to check it out. Many thanks to Ken Risley and his Wife Kim, great people to work for, I look forward to helping them maintain a dominant web presence well into the future.

ONLY AT COLLEGES

Social Media Website Designed And Developed By Mesa Arizona Website Designer And Developer Joshua Jacoby

This website was designed on the WordPress platform, like most of my modern sites. While I can and have developed on any one of a number of frameworks, I find WordPress to be the most flexible and reliable. Joomla is a close second, but the community support for WordPress is far more vast, resulting in better prewritten blocks of code, which save me and my customers valuable time and money.

This site was designed for an ASU student in Tempe, Arizona. He needed a social media site, where users would be able to post their stories from college. The site was themed for ASU colors, and served Arizona State and University of Arizona. I customized several plugins for the required features, including the quick post widget, which was needed because it is WPMU and Buddypress compatible.

Their was also a Jquery slider, which enabled the website owner to display advertisements from local businesses in the college’s own area. This was a great marketing tool, and carried plenty of SEO benefit as well.

The last part of the implementation was to enable a rating system for the posts, using a customized GD star rating, a gem from the folks at WPMU developers. I coded several custom post loops, so the posts could be shown for each author, or by most popular, or by latest post. I also used a translation file to alter the language so posts became stories, which is a lightweight non-intrusive workaround.

HCG MOMMA

Website Design And Development For HCG Momma

This website was created using wordpress CMS, HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript and Jquery. It features a slideshow on the front page that links to posts within the website, a great SEO friendly feature. It also features WordPress E-commerce Web Design that is built into the wordpress site via wp e-commerce and customized with an eye toward seamless upgrades. The customers were a Husband and Wife in Mesa, Arizona. They are selling HCG on the net, and they needed a designer who could establish a web presence for them that was both attractive and optimized for search engine results. They also wanted the ability to sell online, and needed a web designer who would be able to integrate the e-commerce with the CMS, as opposed to using the CMS abilities that come with most cart, which are serious disadvantage when going up a well optimized WordPress website. One of the coolest parts of this cart is the ability to feed the products via RSS to Google, so that they display in the merchant search results. The cart also features auto tagging of all products in RDFa format, which is great for search engine readability. I definitely consider this project a home run, and count the site amongst my favorites.

WP e-commerce is a terrific platform for doing commerce online. Though it had a rocky reputation in its earlier development, it now is on a very stable development line, and is the most widely supported and used E-commerce software on WordPress. In fact, the team at Get Shopped is an 8 man development core, that has been working together for years, and the future for this software just keeps getting brighter and brighter. As an Arizona WordPress E-commerce Designer, I have designed for storage shops, home health remedies, diet pages like this, and even complex product types like upload and print interfaces.

HALESTORM SPORTS

a sports blog using a wordpress cms, featuring wp e-commerce. Created for a client in Scottsdale, Arizona

This blog was a standard, free WordPress theme that my client set up for his blog. He liked the typography, which is still there, and not my design. However, he disliked everything else, many of the hard coded page elements need to be adjusted, and before long we were designing and developing a custom WordPress CMS website theme.

This client is local to Scottsdale Arizona, and I am of course in Mesa, East Mesa. So, we usually meet up for design meetings and website consultations at a Dunkin Donuts halfway between us on Thomas and Hayden, which is the reason I got into this field in the first places. The website itself is pretty straightforward. The writer does articles that are occasionally syndicated or republished by major sports networks , more frequently as his influence rises. This in turn drives large amounts of website traffic – hence the ads on the site. The writer makes his profit via the advertisements and through sales of T-shirts on website ecommerce store, designed by yours truly using WP E-Commerce 3.7

THE NATURAL ROAD

A Thesis Wordpress Design, Customized thesis theme by My Favorite Web Designs of Mesa Arizon

This website was designed and developed for a health supplement company who was looking to increase their conversion rate. The website was originally built on the Thesis WordPress theme. This aspect of the web design was tricky, as Thesis require you add content via custom hooks, delete no content, and achieve all styling with CSS overrides. While CSS makes many aspects of website design and development quite simple, it is much more complicated in an override system. In order for the override to take effect, the exact instance of the html selector must be called, which can be very tricky.

This was also a great project because it involved a remodel of an existing site, without any changing of the content. Many website are made more complicated by using non-standard classes and id’s to style output, instead of building a cross browser compliant website design, seamlessly integrated into a theme which can then be upgraded and updated. It also retain 100% of the original search engine optimization advantages for which the Thesis theme is renowned.

Arizona WordPress Website Design by My Favorite Web Design of Mesa is a terrifically valuable web design service. Our WP customers are able to jump up the search engine rankings far fast and easier than customers without this advantage. In fact, the Natural Choice has ranked many #1 keywords with the benefits of their article system, so they can create landing pages at will.

PYRAMID OF PIXELS

A Website designed for a Tempe Arizona ASU student

I created this website for an ASU student who was looking for a web design incorporating Pixel Advertising. Pixel advertising is a concept that briefly became popular in 2005, then faded from memory as quickly as it has come. The scripts for the design were are circa 2006, and had to be updated for modern CSS output, and made to work with modern browsers.

This Tempe, Arizona college student used a website theme related to the end of the Aztec calendar in 2012. He had a solid business plan in place, and advertised his website to gain traffic, then sold pixels to raise money. It was a unique challenge from a web design and development perspective, and the customer ended up very happy with his project. He has contacted me several times since we concluded work on his project to let me know how well the website was working for him!

THE NATURAL CHOICE

Natural Choice Clinic of Mesa, Arizona - Website Design and Development by Myfavoritewebdesigns.com

Natural Choice Clinic in Mesa Arizona. This website was designed using wordpress as a CMS. The doctor need an area in the website design to post her content and articles, so I created a special side menu where she could upload her work. I also added a google map, and some SEO features. WordPress websites are fantastic because they have humongous SEO potential, and can be modified almost endlessly for optimal SEO results. There is also some evidence Google favors these websites, though it likely is because the website is designed in a cohesive an intelligent architecture by using the WordPress permalink structure, and utilizing tags, categories, tags and other taxonomies to form a website with a perfect hierarchal structure.

The Website graphics were partially done when I received it, but I converted to wordpress, sliced the PSD with CSS to create the custom WordPress template, and then implemented it into a wordpress install. It has some really nice features, including an automatically configured program which tracks dozens of keywords in the search engines, and updates their position every few days, keeping an automatic graph. Pretty neat!

Website Design for a custom wood beam maker in North Scottsdale. We performed web design and SEO for this company, with spectacular results. The design has been widely complimented, and the professional look and feel has resulted in over $300,000 of orders from web customers. The e-marketing made the difference. All the pages were optimized for search, and the website ranks third nationally for Box Beams.

This web site features a gallery to showcase the companies projects, a slideshow for the front page, custom contact form and email newsletter signup form, highslide integration and pay pal buy now buttons. Written almost entirely by hand from scratch, this site is one of my earlier pieces of work, and yet still gets compliments to this day.

Some more info on this amazing site: Due to legal complications, the site had to be taken down, which is a real shame, the pictures and images there were second to none, really showcased some of the best techniques and examples of the custom framing of homes anywhere. Fortunately, this collection will one day be back on the web, I have the backups, and the owner is likely going to give me permission to repost once the legal dust settles.

In our capacity as web designers and professional AZ search optimization consultants, the staff of My Favorite Web Designs becomes very invested in the websites we put up and the content we create. It is always a sad thing to see our work taken down for technicalities or because owners cannot continue operating their sites, but it is also a normal part of life, and we come to terms with the loss as every creative professional eventually must learn to do.

Using WordPress Contact Forms To Make Your Site Convert

Worpress has several different options for contact forms. There is the premium wordpress plugin, gravity forms, which has a a good reputation, and is supposedly quite extensible, though I have yet to work with it.

There is also one of the best contact form plugins available for any content managed website anywhere. It is WordPress Contact Forms 7. One of my specialties is designing custom contact forms using WPCF7. This allows us to place contact forms in inventive places on the website, and in customized CSS layouts, so we are able to attract viewers to the form.

You can also hook up a Database to a contact form with the WPCF7 DB plugin. This plugin also allows you to export data to spreadsheet. You can then do things like test 3 different form placements, and use the excel sheet to tablulate monthly results, picking the best one. You can intelligently dial in your website conversion metrics.

One Last Word On Making The WordPress Contact Form Sell

Successful WordPress Web Designing Tips

Be sure to have your form fields not all be required. This makes a submit harder, and denies you data. Do not use a Captcha unless absolutely vitally necessary, it will also lower conversion. Use watermarks to help label fields – this is visually concise, from a design standpoint.
