My Favorite Web Designs is a quality web design company. We offer many different types of websites, with limitless design possibilities. Here are some of the most popular types of websites on the market today, and a little info about each. Which type of website would best suit your needs?
Types Of Websites:
Content Management System (CMS)
The website is developed using Joomla or WordPress. In rare cases Drupal would be appropriate, but it is less full featured out of the box, and while with enough customization it can become quite powerful, WordPress is equally as capable, user friendly, widely supported, and has literally 10,000’s of specialized capabilities pre-packaged that would require building from scratch on the other platforms. I can work with Joomla, but I prefer WordPress in almost all instances.
Another important reason for having a Custom WordPress website is the search engine optimization capabilities that come inherent in this type of site. There is so much search engine optimization that can be done on a WordPress website that must be laboriously implemented on other platforms. I am not the only one who thinks so. WordPress is the fastest growing web platform in use today, with over 16 million websites designed on the platform in the last two years.
E-commerce Websites
Another advantage to WordPress websites is the ability to add e-commerce easily and cost effectively. The E-commerce solutions currently available are not as full featured as Magento or Zen Cart, but they are very capable nonetheless, and being upgraded at breakneck speed. For most retailers looking to add an online presence, WordPress E-commerce will be the best option. It integrates with Google checkout and merchant services, as well as all the major credit card processing gateways.
E-commerce websites, to accept credit cards require use a payment gateway company, which runs 20-30 a month and 3-4% of gross. Google checkout has better terms, and no monthly fee. Also, since the card is processed off site, the transaction does not require a security certificate, which runs about $20 a year, and a dedicated IP, which also runs about $20 a year. Paypal is another option, but to process credit cards as a merchant would on your website will still require these things.
I would highly recommend a Wordpres E-commerce website with Google Checkout to almost all merchants. The search engine performance of WordPress E-commerce is quite impressive, but when it is integrated with Google Merchant Service, and your products appear in the Google product comparison, the advantage for your website sales is gigantic. It features digital download purchases, automated shipping modules, a full featured shopping cart, coupon codes, pretty much everything the average retailer will need.
